Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Completion of High School or equivalent
• •Ability to read, write, add, subtract, and follow instructions
• •Capability of safely and efficiently driving any type of truck, yard truck crane, or truck-tractor with trailer or winch
• •Good knowledge of proper and safe use of binders, chains, winch lines, snatch blocks, side booms, or gin poles
• •Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
• •Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently
• •Ability to lift 10 pounds constantly
• •Ability to handle spacer bars
• •Ability to hook and unhook material
• •Ability to move material to location designated on material tag
• •Ability to keep machines stocked with material
• •Ability to move material to forwarding zone and tag it for other departments
• •Ability to keep spacer bars in orderly condition
• •Ability to constantly observe material for rust and straightness
• •Ability to make written reports to supervisor as to heats and condition of material, regarding defective materials and mixed heats
• •Ability to help load, unload and check any material which is received or shipped by company
• •Ability to maintain clean and orderly work area
• •Ability to report all needed repairs to supervisor
• •Ability to operate equipment in a safe efficient manner to avoid spills or damage to equipment or products being transported
• •Ability to understand mechanics of assigned unit
• •Ability to ensure that material is properly stacked or tiered
• •Ability to check hoist, spreader, and spreader chains daily
• •Ability to hooks and unhooks material for crane operator
• •Ability to work in heated, ventilated shop with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
• •Ability to handle occasional exposure to heat
• •Ability to handle some dirt and grease
• •Ability to wear hard hat
• •Ability to wear safety glasses
• •Ability to wear hearing protection
• •Ability to wear steel toed footwear
• •Ability to pass employer or customer drug testing
