Job Summary
Material Handler responsible for weighing, bagging, and sorting fabric rolls for shipment. Activities include using safe lifting techniques, recording weights on tickets/computers, labeling and staging rolls for shipping, and moving full staged buggies to the specified location. Follow ISO Weigh Station procedures, report any weight mismatches to lead inspectors, maintain clear aisles, and assist with inventory and packaging-materials monitoring. Requires English literacy, basic math, and the ability to obtain a Forklift license; duties emphasize safety, quality, and efficiency with opportunities to train others and contribute to process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Physical ability to pickup and handle large rolls of fabric, move boxes and rolls, push buggies; able to lift an average of 40 pounds.
- Visual capability to read tickets, sheets and scales.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English; read tickets, instructions, reports and manuals; complete documentation.
- Sufficient math abilities to read weights, subtract tare, and accurately record information on labels and into the computer.
- Ability to obtain Forklift license.
