Job Summary
Operate a baler safely to bale salvageable merchandise, identifying items that can be combined or processed separately. Process donations efficiently, maintaining an average of 8-10 bales per shift or 2 per hour when using an elevator lift. Assist in moving goods between storage and production areas, loading and unloading trucks with material handling equipment. Keep the dock area and assigned vehicle clean and organized while utilizing proper safety practices for all lifting and vehicle operations. Report hazards, incidents, and injuries to the immediate supervisor promptly. Ensure all saleable merchandise reaches the sales floor accurately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team leader, team members, customers, and clients
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Skill of operation monitoring, watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- Ability to work under general supervision
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects as required by job
- Able to sit, stand, bend and reach
- Able to lift, push, pull up to sixty (60) pounds with no support regularly
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer), and adequate distance to guide the parking of vehicles
