Job Summary
Transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas using forklifts, electrical hoists, or hand carts. Load or unload materials from pallets, skids, and vehicles while maintaining 6S activities and keeping walkways clear. Operate packaging or banding machines, perform routine vehicle maintenance, and conduct safety inspections. Weigh products, scan items to locations, and process IQMS transactions for inventory accuracy. Assist with setup, quality audits, and train new employees on proper procedures. Maintain production records and communicate daily with other shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Up to six months related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous material handler experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Certified forklift training (sit down and stand-up)
- Ability to quickly recognize and respond as needed to signals while driving forklift
- Close vision and color vision
- Vision and hearing abilities necessary for driving
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to drive a forklift for full shifts plus scheduled overtime
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a forklift and other PIV equipment
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Ability to use a digital weight scale
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- Knowledge of materials
- Knowledge of IQMS system
- Ability to monitor IQMS to stay informed of job and material changes
- Ability to complete IQ transactions for material
- Ability to maintain 6S activities that have been established
- Ability to conduct accurate inventory transactions for all materials and packaging
- Ability to assist technicians in pulling materials in a timely manner
- Ability to keep walkways clear
- Ability to report weights of any discarded material to the Supervisor/Lead Technician
- Ability to communicate with material handlers on other shifts on a daily basis
- Ability to make sure all materials are labeled properly and accurately scanned to a location
- Ability to assist with set up, quality audits, or operate machines to make parts or products
- Ability to read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
- Ability to maintain production or work records
- Ability to look parts up in inventory and complete inventory transactions
- Ability to clean up as needed and also at the end of the shift
- Ability to train new employees on proper procedures and techniques
- Ability to relieve other operators for breaks as needed
- Ability to serve on special project teams (Kaizen, 5S etc.)
