Job Summary
Material Handler handles loads and movement of materials in a metal fabrication/mfg setting. Reads work orders, moves materials onto/off pallets and racks, and uses a forklift, hand truck, or dolly. Maintains outbound shipment records and stock for station areas, and performs daily forklift inspections. Supports housekeeping and 6S initiatives, adheres to safety standards, and collaborates in a Lean manufacturing environment. Requires basic math, problem-solving, effective verbal and written communication, and ability to work in a team to meet production goals. 3rd shift hours are 10pm–6am (Sunday–Thursday); includes shift differential and opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years of forklift experience ideally in a metal fabrication shop
- Experience in a fast pace environment
- Previous experience with moving large metal objects
- Previous experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
