Job Summary
Operate an electric forklift to deliver materials from supply stores to dedicated drop-off locations within the manufacturing facility. Utilize trigger cards and internal applications to identify stock needs, ensuring accurate quantities and adherence to safety standards. Review job orders and part drawings to determine required materials, while using Oracle ERP to verify part quantities, locations, and receiving history. Complete the S&C Forklift certification program, including testing and required hours, to advance to the intermediate level. Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards while complying with all company policies. Work independently to complete materials requests and communicate efficiently with team members across production support departments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of driving a forklift, (standup preferred), with a safe driving record
- Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers
- Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team
- Proficient in using MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
