Job Summary
Material Handler on the 2nd shift responsible for maintaining and accurately reporting the flow of material across plants, including Work-in-Process, semi-finished goods, and finished goods. Tasks include transferring empty material handling containers to staging areas, weighing and counting inventory, tagging and recording transactions, locating items in racks, maintaining paperwork, performing TPM on equipment, inspecting forklift daily, and ensuring a clean, safe work area. Requires reading and interpreting various manufacturing documents, ability to operate weight-counting scales and forklifts, knowledge of Kanban/pull systems, data entry into CMBIS, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent
- Must have and maintain a valid forklift license
- Knowledge of Kanban cards, pull systems, and computer data entry is required
- Ability to safely lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Work Instructions, Manufacturing Prints, ABC prints, work-order packets, and Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMR’s)
- Must be able to operate weight-counting scales
- Employees will be required to complete training in the operation of the weight counting scales
- Knowledge of inventory transactions and reporting in CMBIS or similar system
- Ability to weigh, tag and record inventory transactions
- Ability to locate store items in proper rack locations
- Maintain required paperwork
- Perform TPM for equipment used
- Inspect forklift daily
