Job Summary
Load and unload freight using a pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift, taking full charge of the assigned dock area. Verify loads, process accounts, and read customer orders to determine items for movement, gathering, or distribution. Count and condition-check cargo received, refusing or accepting with notation as needed. Record documents on forms and logbooks, scan outbound shipments for accuracy, and perform load proofs. Assist with warehouse maintenance, including sweeping floors and storing equipment, while ensuring all property remains in excellent condition. Comply with established procedures for product control and quality assurance. Shift runs Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with overtime and weekends potentially required. Forklift operation and basic math skills are required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck and pallet jack.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities.
- Consistently at work and on time.
- Prolonged periods walking, standing, stooping, kneeling and crouching/crawling.
- The Team Member is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
- One year of related work experience are preferred.
