Job Summary
Operate forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within the plant or warehouse. Maintain records by verifying labels on boxes, matching them to pallets, and scanning items with attention to detail. Adhere to clearly defined SOPs, scientific methods, and quality guidelines while performing routine tasks under general supervision. This 10-month contract role in Covington, GA, requires a high school diploma, zero to one year of warehouse experience, and the ability to lift over 50 lbs in an environment with moderate to loud noise and seasonal temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Stand up forklift experience
- Ability to verify labels on boxes and matching to pallets
- Attention to detail
- Scanning experience
- Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
- General computer skills
- Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed
- Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)
- Saturday shift availability
- Monday through Friday shift availability
- Ability to work in hot summer conditions (no AC)
- Ability to work in cold winter conditions (limited heating)
- Ability to work in moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to work in high, precarious places
- Ability to work with fumes/airborne particles
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, lift, crouch, reach, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, twist, and use hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type
- Ability to work under general to limited supervision
