Job Summary
Material Handler – Basic transports materials from supply stores to drop-off locations using a tugger and operates an electric forklift to deliver materials within the manufacturing facility. Uses trigger cards and internal applications to identify material needs, completes forklift training to advance, reviews job orders and drawings to determine parts required, utilizes Oracle ERP for quantities and locations, adheres to quality and safety standards, and collaborates with mentors to improve work quality. Requires High School Diploma/GED and 1+ years of material handling or related manufacturing experience, forklift experience with a safe driving record, and basic computer and math skills. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement are preferred. Emphasis on safety, accuracy in order quantities, independent work, and effective communication to production support teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of driving a forklift (standup preferred) with a safe driving record
- Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use
- Good attention to detail and ability to determine accurate order quantities
- Ability to work independently and meet material requests
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate information to team members
- Basic computer skills to use internal applications
- Basic math skills for quantities and weights
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (scales and calipers)
- Willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement preferred
