Material Flow Engineer

Job Summary

Support the implementation and optimization of material flow from the warehouse to point of use using lean manufacturing principles. Review, develop, and implement lineside replenishment systems, such as eKanban, with IT to automate material calls and improve delivery efficiency. Maintain material handling layouts that optimize warehouse and production floor space. Lead the implementation of pull systems with balanced inventory levels at each point of use. Manage material handling equipment from procurement through operational deployment, including forklifts, tuggers, AGVs/AGCs, carts, racks, and low-cost automation. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in material flow, logistics, or industrial engineering
  • Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in simulation tools
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

  • Working knowledge of CAD systems
  • Working knowledge of layout drawings
  • Working knowledge of flow-layout optimization
