Job Summary
Material Flow Engineer responsible for designing and optimizing factory layouts, defining storage and line-side material presentation, and managing PFEP data to enable lean material flow. Lead AMR/automation support, implement SMARTPICK/digital picking, and drive process improvements using lean tools (5S, Kanban, pull systems) to improve throughput and inventory efficiency. Develop and maintain PFEP databases, specify material handling equipment (conveyors, forklifts, AMRs, AGVs), ensure seamless integration with production and ERP/WMS systems, and align material flow with production schedules. Collaborate across production, supply chain, logistics, and engineering teams; support NPI and ramp-up activities; build data dashboards (Power BI) to monitor performance (inventory turns, delivery compliance, downtime) and identify bottlenecks. Adhere to Magna charters, safety policies, and GDPR/data privacy guidelines. Education and experience requirements as stated; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 3–7+ years of experience in material flow, logistics, or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in automated or high-volume production environments preferred
