Job Summary
Manage warehousing and expediting activities for the ISS2 mission at Wake Island, ensuring efficient material movement between Honolulu and the island. Load and unload vehicles, inspect shipments, and utilize AIMS systems for receipt and delivery. Store, stack, and palletize materials while orchestrating hazardous cargo shipments and adhering to ITAR regulations. Coordinate with vendors, engineers, and the Honolulu freight office to track shipments, resolve overdue deliveries, and complete necessary documentation. Operate material handling equipment and vehicles safely, train new employees on shipping procedures, and collaborate with buyers to consolidate project materials.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience using accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and material handling techniques
- Possess a valid driver's License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, lift gates and trucks; must pass forklift certification
- Knowledge of safety regulations, practices and procedures
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English
- Demonstrated proficiency in accurately completing hazardous materials documentation
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to be flexible while still maintaining high standards of professionalism in order to perform under deadlines and manage multiple priorities in volatile and diverse environments
- Experience with MS Office
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs)
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, fingerprints, and a fit-for-duty physical exam; candidates must be medically cleared for long-term residency in a remote location with limited access to healthcare
- Must be able to remain away for long periods of time while working on island with occasional scheduled trips back to Honolulu
