Job Summary
Develop and prepare cost estimates and pricing proposals for new bids, contracts, and project modifications, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Collect data from multiple sources, perform detailed analyses using advanced Excel skills, and interpret technical and programmatic data to enhance estimating processes. Communicate findings effectively to support informed decision-making and prepare performance reports for stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and maintain alignment in cost estimates. Maintain knowledge of FAR, FAR Supplements, and Cost Accounting Standards to ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +3 yrs experience)
- 5+ years of related experience
- Intermediate knowledge of financial operations, cost management, estimating, financial planning, or financial analysis
- Experience collecting data from several sources, performing analysis, and communicating data
- Ability to interpret data of a technical/programmatic nature and utilize research and analysis methods
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/influence others
- Experience with cross-functional communication and performance reporting
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Certifications: PMP, CPA, or CFA
- Extensive experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Proven track record of successfully developing and preparing cost estimates and pricing proposals
- Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior management and stakeholders
- Familiarity with advanced project management methodologies and tools
- Experience in a leadership role within a finance or estimating team
- Knowledge of FAR, FAR Supplements, Cost Accounting Standards, and Government pricing
