Material Coordinator - 2nd shift

Job Summary

Conduct daily delivery tasks to customer facilities and job sites while managing warehouse duties including loading/unloading, picking materials, and receiving replenishment stock. Coordinate material substitutions with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Control, and maintain accurate stock disposition by preparing reports on excess inventories and parts status. Route and operate equipment to move parts, manage kan ban bins, and ensure aisles remain cleared using SAP for materials management. Maintain material handling equipment and follow safety protocols while lifting heavy parts and operating a forklift. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of motorized equipment training classes as required
  • Must hold and maintain a JCI fork lift license
  • Must understand the Johnson Controls Manufacturing process
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Operational Method Sheets (OMS)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • General computer skills
  • Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds, 1 to 30 times an hour
  • Must be able to step up on fork truck several times per shift
  • Must be able to use upper body to support body weight when stepping up on fork truck
  • Must be able to perform continuous mental/visual demand required extensively when operating fork truck
  • Must be able to perform varied degrees of mental demand required when organizing bins/pallets in work area
  • Must be able to perform overtime to meet production demands
  • Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays when necessary
  • Must be able to practice safe work and environmentally friendly behavior
  • Must be able to participate actively in safety and environmental training
  • Must be able to maintain and use as required all personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment provided
  • Must be able to understand hazards associated with job assignments
  • Must be able to alert supervisor/management of any unsafe conditions or environmental concerns immediately

Desired Qualifications

  • SAP experience is preferred
