Job Summary
Leads and coordinates daily Material Control, packing, and shipping activities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant movement of materials and customer orders. Aligns Material Control priorities with production and shipping schedules through close collaboration with Production, Quality, Customer Support, and Logistics. Serves as a key communication link between the team and management, escalating risks or changes that may impact cost, schedule, quality, or customer experience. Provides performance feedback and operational input related to material flow, shipping execution, and process adherence to the Supply Chain Manager to support employee development. Oversees inter‐company and external shipments to ensure proper receipt, documentation, system accuracy, and on‐time delivery. Ensures shipping, customs, and trade documentation is prepared accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations and company procedures. Supports resolution of shipment discrepancies, carrier issues, and customs delays to minimize operational and customer impact. Coordinates daily work assignments and workflow for Material Control personnel, providing hands‐on guidance and problem‐solving support. Supports inventory integrity through accurate records, material handling practices, and participation in physical inventory activities. Maintains adherence to standard operating procedures and supports updates and continuous improvement of Material Control processes. Supports audit readiness and participates in internal and external audits related to Material Control activities. Promotes operational excellence through participation in 5S, EHS initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts (e.g., Kaizen, root cause analysis). Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience (medical device industry preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Experience with automated planning, inventory control, raw material purchasing, and MRP systems
- Experience with quality assurance and control practices and SOPs
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards
- Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and carriers (UPS, FedEx)
- Awareness of Lean Manufacturing and related systems (JIT, MRP, ERP)
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
