Material Control Specialist I

Job Summary
Control supply levels and stock planning for the correct quantity of parts in the correct time, while monitoring supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery. Serve as the main point of contact for assigned suppliers and transportation providers, performing basic data processing in the Material Planning system. Support series production, parts run-in, and run-out, and participate in internal projects to minimize obsolescence costs. Maintain monthly supplier ratings and quarterly LPKM information while adhering to 5S and safety standards. Understand and model VPS principles and concepts of Standard Work. Work onsite in Spartanburg, SC, with a full-time, 40-hour A-shift schedule, occasionally including Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- AA/AS degree
- BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in material planning or related function
- 1+ years of experience in a material planning related capacity
- 6 months participation in a co-op/internship program in the material planning role
- 3+ years Computer Skills to include MS Office, Excel and Windows
- Less than 1 year interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Less than 1 year Knowledge of SAP or other ERP software associated to Material Planning
- 1+ years Knowledge of logistic processes in supply-chain
- Willingness to occasionally work Saturdays as part of a rotation schedule
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices
- Location: Spartanburg, SC, 100% onsite
- Schedule: Full Time/, 40 hours per week / A-shift/ occasionally Saturday shift
