Job Summary

Administer MAT medications per provider orders and facility protocols while performing nursing assessments to monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms, treatment response, and potential side effects. Conduct venipuncture, prepare laboratory specimens, and accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic health record. Collaborate with MAT providers, nursing staff, behavioral health clinicians, and security personnel to ensure coordinated, continuous care and educate patients on treatment adherence and harm-reduction strategies. Maintain accurate medication inventory and ensure compliance with DEA, state, and facility regulations regarding controlled substances. Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and reporting requirements related to MAT services. Assist with discharge planning to support treatment continuity after release. Support staff training and education on MAT procedures and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of employment
  • At least one (1) year of nursing experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in medication administration, injections, and phlebotomy
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a secure environment while adhering to all safety and security protocols
  • Familiarity with MAT protocols, controlled substance handling, and applicable federal/state regulations
  • Ability to stand, walk, and provide patient care for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle medical equipment and controlled substances
  • Must be able to lift or move materials up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to respond promptly to clinical or facility emergencies
  • Must meet facility security clearance requirements and comply with correctional safety procedures
