MAT Counselor position focused on providing support within a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, helping individuals manage opioid use disorder through counseling and approved medications. Based at the Root Center for Advanced Recovery (methadone dispensary), responsibilities include counseling clients individually and in groups, developing treatment plans, case management, urinalysis monitoring, referrals and assistance with eligibility/financial applications, intake and screenings, assessments, documentation, and active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, while adhering to program policies and regulatory standards. The role emphasizes education, safety planning, progress monitoring, collaboration with families and other facilities, and ongoing professional development with a pathway toward Connecticut licensure.
