Job Summary
Coaches and instructs swimmers on the YMCA swim team, builds authentic relationships with swimmers and parents, and attends practices and swim meets. Provides leadership and prepares practices/workouts per YMCA guidelines; trains and supervises Junior Swim Coaches if needed; maintains records and participates in staff trainings; ensures safety and proper equipment handling, and promotes parent involvement and volunteer opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications
- USA Swim Coach certifications
- Current Lifeguard Training Certification or Safety Training for Swim Coaches
- Knowledge of competitive strokes and techniques, competitive swimming and water safety
- Knowledge of Team Unify, Meet Manager, Team Manager
- Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all backgrounds
