Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, and repair all District automobiles, buses, trucks, and related equipment. Provide support to the Shop Manager for various duties and responsibilities as needed. Maintain a current Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class B with Passenger Endorsement, and School Bus Safety Inspector Certification. Hold ASE A/C Certification or attain it within six months. Work full-time, benefit-eligible, for 245 days per year at Transportation West in Port Richey.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Automotive Technology, or related field
- Three years' experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
- Current and valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B, with a Passenger Endorsement 'P'
- Driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver Plan
- Current and valid Florida Department of Education School Bus Safety Inspector Certification
- ASE A/C Certification
