Job Summary
Master Technician at VIP’s Bangor, ME location responsible for diagnosing automotive systems and performing repair and maintenance across ASE-covered areas (Engine Repair, Transmission/Transaxle, Drive Train & Axles, Suspension & Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating & A/C, Engine Performance). Ensures Service Work Orders are initiated and displayed, completes MPI, supports the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process, and adheres to safety, loss prevention, and VIP quality standards.Requires ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5 or equivalent), state vehicle inspection license, BATS/TPMS training, and ongoing ASE certification maintenance. Must read/interpret technical instructions, explain vehicle information to customers, and maintain a productive, quality-focused SHOP environment with regular LMS training and compliance with regulations. Standard workweek is 5 days and 40 hours; non-exempt hourly compensation. Certifications and licenses as listed; willingness to engage in ongoing training and certifications is essential.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
- Becomes ASE certified based on position (Technician: G1, A4 and A5; ASE Technician: four of the A-Series; Master Technician: all eight A-Series)
- Possesses ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and regulations
- Ability to diagnose and repair automotive systems
- Completion of required LMS training and safety trainings
- Ability to pass required safety/quality standards and maintain ASE certification status
