Job Summary
Service, test, inspect, and troubleshoot wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems while performing routine maintenance and repairs. Identify code compliance issues, recommend fixes or upgrades, and document findings per NFPA standards. Coordinate service calls with contractors and building staff, then respond to emergency requests via on-call rotations. Maintain safety protocols and lift up to 50 pounds while working at heights of 30 feet or more. Travel within your assigned territory using a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Master Plumber License in the state of Maryland
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel within your assigned territory
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights of 30 feet or more
- Experience operating lifts
- Understanding of OSHA safety practices
- Professional, team-oriented mindset
- Consistent focus on doing the job safely and correctly
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or industry related experience
- Working knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, their components, and common tools used to service them
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and general fire protection standards
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and system drawings
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- 8–10+ years of plumbing experience
- Significant portion of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
- NICET certification in water-based systems inspection, testing, or layout
- Experience handling both routine inspections and more complex repair work
- Known for catching issues early, explaining them clearly to customers, and following through until they are fixed
