Job Summary
Lead and manage the planning/scheduling team, supervising one direct report while overseeing departmental processes, standards, and SOPs. Build and maintain the master production schedule in Sage X3 to optimize capacity, materials, and inventory while protecting customer delivery dates. Convert customer demand signals from portals and EDI releases into ERP orders, run MRP, and issue work orders to the floor. Re-plan schedules in response to disruptions, equipment downtime, or unplanned absences, and enforce planning time fences with change-control authority. Represent planning in S&OP meetings to communicate risks and corrective actions, and report core KPIs including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and inventory turns. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing root causes of misses and reducing past-due backlog.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in production planning, master scheduling, or materials management in a discrete manufacturing environment
- at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role with direct reports
- Proven track record of managing complex supply chains and leading a planning or scheduling team in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Demonstrated command of master production scheduling (MPS), material requirements planning (MRP), and rough-cut capacity planning
- Hands-on experience translating customer demand signals (release portals, EDI 830 forecasts and 862 firm releases) into ERP-actionable schedules
- Proficiency with a manufacturing ERP system
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, or business
- APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP)
