Job Summary
Master Mechanic position in an industrial facility requiring strong mechanical expertise with piping systems, rigging, and hydro testing. Responsibilities include safe use of hand and power tools, disassembly/assembly of unit equipment, ensuring permits are obtained, and active participation in health, safety, quality, and environmental processes. Requires 5+ years in industrial mechanical trades, NCCER certification or equivalent, ability to read isometrics, weld maps, blueprints and P&IDs, proficiency with extractor equipment and heavy exchangers, and advanced rigging skills. Must work well in a team, perform in a safety-sensitive environment, and be willing to undergo ongoing training. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, working at height and in confined spaces, and maintaining PPE standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial mechanical trades
- Must be willing to attend continued training applicable to the job
- Must be able to pass NCCER Assessments and be Performance Verified or provide NCCER Certification number
- Able to pass physical examination and pre-employment requirements
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairways
- Must be able to carry 50 lbs. of tools/materials
- Must be able to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces
- Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English
- Experience with Hydro Testing
- Knowledge of rigging and rigging operations
- Advanced Rigging knowledge
- Ability to read and understand piping isometric drawings, weld maps, blueprints, and P&ID’s
- Able to install piping and piping components
- Able to perform Hydrostatic Testing
- Able to build and install pipe hangers and supports
- Able to cut/bevel piping using oxyfuel, plasma, mechanical equipment
- Understand tolerances related to Millwright work
