Job Summary
Diagnose complex drivability, engine performance, transmission, electrical, and network communication concerns using scan tools, oscilloscopes, and manufacturer service information. Perform major mechanical repairs including engine teardowns, timing component overhauls, and drivetrain, suspension, and brake systems. Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians while providing technical guidance and sharing best practices to develop the service team. Conduct quality control inspections before vehicle returns and assist Service Advisors with repair explanations and estimate development. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies. This role aligns with ASE Master Technician certification standards, including A1 through A9 systems, and supports technicians pursuing ongoing technical training and career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7+ years of professional automotive repair experience
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Expert-level diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across multiple vehicle systems
- Experience performing major engine repairs, advanced electrical diagnostics, and complex drivability repairs
- Proficiency using modern diagnostic equipment, scan tools, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and specialty tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction
- Ability to lead by example while supporting and developing fellow technicians
- Willingness to pursue and maintain ASE certifications with company support
