Job Summary
Diagnose complex vehicle issues using Stellantis factory diagnostic tools and systems. Perform repairs on all major systems including engine, transmission, electrical, and advanced fuel/ignition systems. Diagnose, disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble automatic and manual transmissions to manufacturer specifications. Execute multipoint inspections, conduct test drives to verify repair quality, and accurately document all work performed. Explain technical diagnoses clearly to service advisors and customers while reporting mechanical issues to the shop foreman. Participate in ongoing manufacturer-sponsored technical training and mentor junior technicians. Maintain required certifications and ensure vehicles are returned clean and in excellent condition. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive technician
- Demonstrated diagnostic expertise
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing automatic and manual transmissions
- Strong drivetrain knowledge including internal transmission components and repair procedures
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic read-outs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to advisors and customers
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass background/drug screening
- Ability to lift heavy parts/equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to kneel and bend
- Ability to work in shop conditions (noise, chemicals, temperature variations)
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced experience working on Stellantis vehicles
- ASE Master Automotive Technician Certification
- Stellantis/Mopar Master Technician certification or equivalent
