Job Summary

MassHire is seeking a Career Navigator to deliver innovative, customer-focused workforce development services at the MassHire Downtown Boston Career Center. The role includes providing personalized 1:1 career coaching virtually, onsite at the Downtown Boston office and offsite at partner locations in the Boston region, and remote work from home. Responsibilities include leading job search webinars and workshops on career exploration, networking, resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn, interviewing, negotiation, and more; assisting clients in the Career Resource Center with membership registration, job search strategies, and accessing Career Center resources; and performing related duties such as assisting with job fairs and administrative tasks. Essential functions cover conducting individualized coaching sessions, advising on the job search process, helping clients overcome barriers, empowering clients to articulate their skills, collaborating to set actionable goals, maintaining records in MOSES and Excel, presenting webinars/workshops, registering new members, providing guidance on applications and search strategies, offering technical assistance with computer navigation, triaging client needs, managing Resource Center operations, supporting events, and collaborating with partner agencies. Requires an Associate’s degree with two years of related experience, strong teaching/public speaking skills, advanced computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom), excellent organizational and communication abilities, and the ability to engage with diverse populations. The position is hybrid with onsite at 75 Federal Street, Boston, MA, offsite at partner locations in the Boston region, and remote work from home; travel to partner organizations in the Boston region may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree plus two years of hands-on experience and/or training in areas such as career counseling, case management, recruitment, education, coaching, or counseling
  • Teaching or public speaking skills/experience required
  • Advanced computer and technology competency required (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom)
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse populations
  • Frequent meetings with clients; ability to travel to partner organizations in the Boston region may be required
