Job Summary
Evaluate coverage on sophisticated insurance products for long-tail bodily injury, property damage, construction defect, and environmental toxic tort claims. Hire and manage counsel to defend insureds, assess damages with outside experts, and formulate strategies for favorable claim resolution. Negotiate with insureds and third parties while advising business partners on exposures and potential product enhancements. Provide coverage resources to adjusters, managers, and underwriters regarding emerging risks such as PFAS and opioids. Support claims and business leaders with analytical assessments of financial impact to AIG and our insureds.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect or Environmental experience
- The ability to handle complex claims involving diverse coverage issues related to GL and Environmental policies
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Investigation skills
- Primary in-office presence
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with sophisticated litigation and coverage issues, including long-tail bodily injury and property damage exposures
- Experience with claims arising under Coverage B of Primary/Excess CGL policies
- Experience with construction defect claims
- Experience with environmental and toxic tort claims
- Emerging risks expertise (PFAS, opioids)
- Experience as a coverage resource for Casualty adjusters, managers and underwriters
