Mass Properties Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

Job Summary
Establish and support control methods for weight and balance of in-process and completed assemblies, while tracking and maintaining all mass properties information. Directly interface with various organizations within completions to support actual weight and balance of aircraft, solving typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline. Develop plans for engineering assignments, obtain supervisor approvals for work accuracy, and lead digitalization improvement projects to automate work processes. Act as a strong liaison with internal and international departments to ensure all work meets customer requirements and contributes to project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
- Minimum three (3) years plus experience in aircraft compliance experience
- Clear and in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Mass Properties and flight physics calculations and analysis
- Proficient level of the English language
- Ability to communicate effectively in an international setting that resolves problems, facilitates consensus, and focuses on objectives
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, compliance documentation, and technical documentation
- Proficiency in Google Suites Products
- Authorized to Work in the US
- Ability to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings
- Ability to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms
- Ability to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications
- Ability to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts
- Ability to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs
- Ability to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs
- Ability to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools
- Ability to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer
- Ability to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving
- Ability to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor
- Ability to travel independently and at short notice
- Ability to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces
