Job Summary
Youth Programs Director at Central Rock Gym in Buffalo, NY, leading coaches and youth program initiatives. Create seasonal programming, develop curriculum, hire/train staff, and manage scheduling and pricing for youth offerings. Maintain SafeSport training, ensure DOH standards in staff training, and communicate with parents. Develop weekly lesson plans, monitor youth progress, and uphold the coaches' code of conduct. Requires minimum 2 years of climbing experience, strong movement analysis, and excellent in-person and remote communication. Weekday afternoon availability and weekend availability are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with youth in an adventure/educational setting
- Strong behavior management skills with youth of all ages
- Proficiency in top rope belaying
- Weekday afternoon availability and willingness to work weekends
- Strong in-person and remote communication skills
- Careful attention to detail, ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback
- Experience coaching or working with youth in an outdoor/adventure-based setting
