Job Summary
Counselor responsible for fostering a fun, welcoming youth-climbing environment, delivering fundamentals of climbing, building curriculum, and ensuring an engaged CRG youth community. Duties include supervising groups, maintaining safety, belaying and improving climbing technique, leading activities and crafts, setting up/breaking down daily programs, and clear communication with attendees, parents, and the Youth Program Director. Requires prior youth-program experience, certification readiness, strong behavior management, effective in-person communication, and availability during program weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with youth in a camp or program, outdoor/adventure based or educational setting
- Strong behavior management skills with youth of all ages
- Strong in-person communication skills with children, parents/guardians, and staff
- Availability during all program operating weeks from morning until mid-afternoon
- Proficiency in top rope belaying or a willingness to learn
- Careful attention to detail, ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback
- Required certifications including SafeSport, CPR/First Aid (documentation to provide)
