Job Summary
As a Counselor, you will foster a fun and welcoming program environment for youth by introducing fundamentals of climbing, building a strong base, continuing to develop skills, help create a solid curriculum, and ensuring a highly engaged CRG youth community experience. You will belay kids, run activities and crafts, set up and break down daily activities, communicate with attendees and parents about programs and youth progress, and maintain safety and supervision throughout program hours. Qualifications include previous youth-work experience, strong behavior management and communication skills, bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, and a commitment to completing required certifications (SafeSport, CPR/First Aid).
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with youth in a camp or program, outdoor/adventure based or educational setting.
- Strong behavior management skills with youth of all ages.
- Strong in-person communication skills with children, parents/guardians, and staff.
- Availability during all program operating weeks from morning until mid-afternoon.
- Proficiency in top rope belaying or a willingness to learn.
- Required certifications (including SafeSport, CPR/First Aid, etc.) and documentation.
