Job Summary
Coach youth climbers in a fun, welcoming environment; lead practices, follow structured training programs, and reinforce program pillars of community, grit, and growth. Responsibilities include regularly guiding practices, completing SafeSport training for youth coaches, adhering to coaches’ code of conduct, maintaining communication with staff on scheduling and athlete progress, and supporting athletes in competitions and youth programs. Key skills include proficiency in lead climbing and belaying, strong in-person and remote communication, ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback, attention to detail, and a passion for developing climbers over time.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with youth climbers
- Strong in-person and remote communication skills
- Minimum 4 years of climbing experience
- Weekday afternoon availability and willingness to work weekends to support athletes in competitions and youth programs
- Proficiency in lead climbing and belaying
- Careful attention to detail, ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback
- Ability to support teenage athletes in an often-stressful training environment
