Job Summary
Senior Route Setter leads and co-leads setting days, forerunning sessions, and mentorship within the CRG setting team. Sets and foreruns routes up to 5.13a and boulders up to V8, ensuring quality, consistency, and accurate grading across climbs. Provides mentorship to Assistant and Apprentice Setters, assists with rotation planning and workload organization, maintains a safe work zone, and communicates daily priorities with leadership. Supports competitions and events as a senior team representative and adheres to CRG safety protocols while modeling professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional route setting experience
- Ability to set routes up to 5.13a and boulders up to V8
- Comfortable working at heights of 40+ feet on ropes, ladders, and lifts
- Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail
- Friendly, approachable, and team-focused personality
- PRS 2, WAH 1 certification preferred
- USAC Level 2+ certification preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule with early morning and occasional weekend availability
- Strong understanding of movement, risk management, and member experience
