Job Summary
Assistant Route Setter supports the Head Setter in daily operations, including setting, stripping, cleaning, and maintaining holds and walls. They help ensure consistent, creative, and safe routes and boulders while contributing to competitions and facility upkeep. Responsibilities include setting and stripping routes, maintaining quality and grading accuracy, assisting with scheduling and workflow, aiding competition setup and execution, and performing maintenance. Must be flexible with early morning/afternoon shifts; requires 2+ years of climbing/route setting experience; certifications PRS 1, WAH 1, USAC 1 are preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 40+ feet; comfortable using power tools; stay informed on climbing trends and techniques.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of climbing and route setting experience
- PRS 1 certification preferred
- WAH 1 certification preferred
- USAC 1 certification preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working at heights of 40+ feet
- Competent with power tools
