Job Summary
Experienced Mason needed for historic restoration work across the DMV (Washington, DC; MD; VA). Responsibilities include constructing or repairing masonry surfaces, preparing surfaces for bricklaying, laying concrete and brick with precision, following blueprints or drawings, creating accurate layouts with chalk lines and levels, mixing cement to proper consistency, cutting bricks and concrete, smoothing mortar, molding expansion joints, finishing masonry installations, and erecting scaffolding as required. Required skills include bricklaying and stone masonry techniques, ability to read plans, attention to detail, basic math, use of masonry tools, and physical ability to perform demanding on-site tasks (lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing scaffolds, and travel to various job sites). Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of general masonry experience
- Must own basic masonry tools
- Ability to travel to various job sites
- Ability to climb scaffolds and ladders and lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds
- Experience working on historic properties is a plus
- Knowledge and skill in bricklaying and stone masonry techniques
- Basic math skills to calculate area, volume, and weight
