Job Summary
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers, Senior Practitioners, and support staff within the MASH service. Oversee the screening, assessment, and triage of safeguarding referrals to ensure timely interventions and positive outcomes for children and families. Ensure effective information sharing and partnership working across multi-agency stakeholders, including Police, Health, Education, and Early Help services. Provide supervision, coaching, and performance management while monitoring service performance against key safeguarding indicators and statutory requirements. Manage complex safeguarding decisions and provide expert consultation on high-risk cases. Contribute to service development, audits, quality assurance activities, and inspections to promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care
- Previous management or leadership experience within a MASH, Assessment, Referral & Assessment, Duty & Assessment, or Front Door service
- Strong knowledge of: Children Act 1989 & 2004
- Strong knowledge of: Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Strong knowledge of: Child Protection Procedures
- Strong knowledge of: Relevant safeguarding legislation and best practice
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and multi-agency partnerships
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
