Job Summary
Mascot Intern supports Sabretooth and Rax at Buffalo Sabres home games and community appearances, assisting with events, engaging with fans, capturing content for Sabretooth’s social channels, and helping the Mascot Coordinator with responsibilities for home games. The role involves accompanying mascots at events, acting as a liaison with the community, interacting with fans (taking photos/videos), observing safety, and contributing to creating engaging experiences. Candidate should be able to ice skate, be comfortable in front of crowds, and be available for extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Internship includes professional development workshops, mentorship, and exposure to multiple departments within the organization; compensation is $16.00 per hour for a part-time, temporary role for the 2026-2027 season.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience as a mascot performer
- Ability to ice skate
- Reliable transportation to KeyBank Center
- Desire to work in professional sports
- Availability to work Buffalo Sabres home games
- Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays
- Height between 5’9” and 6’1”
- Ability to work in a fast-paced live events environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creativity and non-verbal acting ability
- Commitment to safety and crowd management
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
