Job Summary
Learn the personality and mannerisms of Naudie and Keeper, then maintain their established identities through movement and energy while performing in-game skits, community events, and partner activations. Oversee costume care and storage after each use, collaborate with the game presentation team on rehearsals and activations, and encourage crowd participation inside and outside the Adirondack Bank Center. This seasonal part-time role runs from October through May/June, requiring flexible availability for select weekends, evenings, and holidays, with compensation of $100 per game or event. Reliable transportation is required, and travel reimbursement is not offered.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalency
- Possess a flexible schedule to be available for Utica Comets and Utica City FC home games
- Seasons run from October – May/June and include select weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation
- Excellent physical stamina with the expectation of being on your feet standing and moving for extended periods of time
- Ability to comfortably perform in full costume for extended periods of time in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions, including warm weather
- Adhering to strict timing and adapting to changing game situations in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
- Effectively use non-verbal expressions to communicate personality and emotion
- Possess a basic knowledge of ice hockey and indoor/arena soccer
- Lifting at least 30 lb. at a time
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a mascot or costumed performer and/or performance, dance, theater, cheer, or athletic experience
