Job Summary
Greet customers and professional contractors, then operate forklifts and pallet jacks to merchandise, stock, and unload incoming freight while protecting company assets. Assist truck drivers in delivering materials to job sites and load goods into customer vehicles after validating quantities against the point-of-sale system. Build loads, prepare inventory for delivery, and report product shortages to management. Maintain yard and warehouse cleanliness, ensure equipment safety, and follow all security and safety guidelines. Participate in regular safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the store manager's supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- forklift certification
- some delivery experience
- experience dealing with the public
- basic math skills
- satisfactory reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Must be able to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to place merchandise in locations above six feet in height
- Must be able to unload a delivery truck
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Must be able to maneuver safely at store, in yard or warehouse, and at job sites
