Job Summary
Marketing Planner responsible for guiding advertising solutions from problem solving to performance verification, creating proposals, conceptualizing media plans, and analyzing advertising effectiveness using Rakuten's proprietary data. Collaborates with Sales planning, product, data, and operations teams to design full-funnel marketing plans across Rakuten's ecosystem, leveraging first-party data and AI-enabled insights to help advertisers achieve lifecycle goals. Responsibilities include conducting client interviews, preparing proposal materials based on upstream strategy decisions, designing media plans, performing marketing and effectiveness analysis, and coordinating with product, data, and other departments to finalize proposals. The role sits in Tokyo, within the Ad Sales Department, and emphasizes cross-service collaboration, data-driven analysis, and creative proposal development. Ideal candidates will have strong communication, problem-solving, creativity, proposal development, and digital advertising experience (display, video, search) with exposure to e-commerce or retail media, and experience managing multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in planning and project development at an advertising agency or media company
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on marketing strategies as a strategic planner
