Marketing Operations Lead

$150,000–$180,000 year

On-siteSan Francisco, California, United States

Full TimeSenior LevelSmallTechnology

Job Summary

Administer the martech stack including Marketo, Customer.io, and Salesforce integrations while maintaining clean data hygiene and campaign hierarchies. Design lead scoring, routing logic, and MQL-to-S1 workflows to ensure accurate pipeline conversion and speed to lead. Manage attribution models using Google Tag Manager, Hockeystack, and Bizible to keep tracking honest and defensible. Own email deliverability, consent compliance, and the end-to-end event lifecycle from registration to handoff. Partner with Sales and CS Ops to align funnel definitions, manage the marketing budget, and build trusted reporting dashboards. Lead the Marketo implementation and migration of top-of-funnel motions as the sole Marketing Ops hire.

Required Qualifications

  • Deep Marketo expertise, a hard requirement: you know the platform inside and out (forms, lists, program architecture, scoring, nurture, integrations) and have run it end to end. We will not consider candidates without hands-on Marketo experience.
  • 5-7 years in Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations, ideally in B2B SaaS, comfortable both building a report and explaining what it means for the business.
  • Salesforce expertise, required: hands-on admin experience, including the Campaign object, campaign hierarchies, and reporting and dashboards.
  • Lead scoring and routing: a proven track record designing scoring models, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic in B2B SaaS.
  • AI fluency: you actively use AI tools to work faster and build better processes, this is core to how the role operates, not a nice-to-have.
  • Systems thinker: you fix the underlying system rather than patching one-off issues.
  • Clear communicator: you explain technical and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders who need answers, not jargon.
  • Operates autonomously: as the sole owner of marketing ops, you run a live request queue while shipping a multi-month platform project, and translate vague asks into the right system, automation, or report.
  • You're in SF or willing to relocate, you love working in person.

Desired Qualifications

  • (Bonus) Prior experience leading a full MAP implementation or migration.
  • (Bonus) Experience with other MAPs (Customer.io http://Customer.io or equivalent) alongside Marketo.
  • (Bonus) GTM/ad-platform tracking depth plus attribution tools (Hockeystack, Bizible).
  • (Bonus) BI comfort in Hex (or Looker/Tableau) to partner with RevOps and Data on how metrics get modeled.
  • (Bonus) SQL comfort, able to query a data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar) for ad hoc analysis.
  • (Bonus) Experience with intent/signal tools (Unify, UserGems) or CDP/data-activation tools (Sequel, Hightouch).
  • (Bonus) You've partnered with dedicated Sales Ops and/or CS Ops before.
