Job Summary

Marketing Manager at Mussett Nicholas Associates (MNA) leading a senior-level role to build external growth strategy as the firm scales from ~120 to 300+ engineers. You will partner directly with six owners to create market visibility, deepen client relationships, and systematize business development. You will build a marketing infrastructure from the ground up, set strategy, hire and develop staff, manage executive-level client relationships, and represent the firm externally. The role requires deep AEC/technical professional services experience, with emphasis on managing long sales cycles, relationship-driven markets, and coordinating with licensed engineers. Responsibilities include developing and owning annual marketing and BD strategy, building a structured pipeline across multiple offices, leading market analysis, defining go-to-market approaches, and reporting key metrics; managing multi-level client relationships and executive engagements; leading content and external brand efforts; and recruiting and developing the marketing team, CRM adoption, and proposal processes. Ideal candidates have substantial AEC market experience, a proven track record in building marketing/BD functions, and strong communication and leadership capabilities; a degree in Marketing/Business/Communications is preferred but a demonstrable results record in AEC BD carries equal weight.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive marketing and business development experience, with the majority in AEC, engineering, construction, owner's representation, or a closely related technical services sector
  • Demonstrated track record of building or significantly growing a marketing and BD function inside a professional services firm
  • Experience managing multi-level client relationships in a B2B professional services context
  • Proven ability to lead proposal efforts on complex, competitive pursuits
  • Strong executive-level communication skills — written, verbal, and in-person presentation
  • Experience hiring and developing marketing staff
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms; Deltek or similar AEC business development tools a significant plus
  • Proficiency in or working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign primary); able to direct design work and maintain brand standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred
