Job Summary

Develop and manage visual and written content across digital, print, and social media platforms to enhance Special Olympics Kansas' brand visibility. Create graphics, videos, and promotional materials while maintaining strict adherence to established brand standards and storytelling strategies. Draft press releases, coordinate media relations, and support public appearances to cultivate relationships with outlets and community partners. Manage website content, email marketing initiatives, and event communications for statewide competitions and fundraising activities. Monitor engagement metrics and adapt messaging for diverse audiences, including athletes, donors, and the general public. Collaborate daily with leadership, volunteers, and external stakeholders to execute integrated marketing campaigns and special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, content development, or a related field
  • Experience creating content for digital and social media platforms
  • Experience using graphic design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Strong understanding of marketing, branding, content creation, and audience engagement strategies
  • Experience developing compelling visual and written communications across multiple platforms
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles, visual storytelling techniques, and brand management practices
  • Exceptional written, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt messaging for various audiences, platforms, and communication objectives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with website content management systems, social media management tools, and email marketing platforms
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to serve as a positive ambassador for the organization and its stakeholders
  • Must operate with a time-frame concept of 'whatever time it takes to insure quality results'
  • Must be available for evenings and weekends
  • Must be available for out-of-state travel
  • Must be available for local travel
  • Must be willing to work in extreme cold and heat
  • Must be willing to work outside the 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. work day

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with photography, video editing, and multimedia content creation preferred
