Job Summary
Market Vice President, Commercial Agriculture Banking leads and oversees a Canadian Commercial Agriculture Banking Relationship Management Team in Canada. They will be responsible for meeting objectives related to the profitable growth and client satisfaction of an assigned Ag portfolio of Business Clients by providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for Relationship Management across the Ag banking segment in a defined market area. Develops sales management strategies and leads the implementation of tactical plans for the geographic area to support the Canadian Commercial Banking strategy and business objectives. Ensures the customer portfolio receives ongoing attention to improve and retain relationships. Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, coaching mindset and succession planning, while ensuring day-to-day controls and risk considerations are met. Involves frequent interaction with CFOs, Controllers and Centers of Influence; collaborates with internal partners to promote bank products and services; adaptable to a fast-paced, demanding environment with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in business or economics or other Business Specialty background
- Must have at least 5+ years of commercial banking experience
- Must have an agriculture network and experience within that industry
- Strong network of prospects, potential Relationship Manager candidates and Centers of Influence in the region
- Expert knowledge of Canada’s financial services marketplace and of the assigned market area’s key industries, major customers, and competitive positioning within the assigned market areas
- Strong leadership, coaching, relationship-building and communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of commercial lending, deposits, and customer profitability models
- Ability to articulate views to all levels within the Bank and externally
- Working knowledge of risk management and compliance within Canadian Commercial Banking
