Job Summary
Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to position Oxford Nanopore as a disruptive platform across the biopharma R&D and manufacturing landscape. Drive market adoption of sequencing for high-impact applications including genomic profiling, cell and gene therapies, RNA therapeutics, and quality control in GMP-regulated environments. Build strategic relationships with thought leaders, contract research organizations, and regulatory stakeholders to align commercial initiatives with evolving industry needs. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, business development, and regulatory teams to design go-to-market strategies that accelerate customer success and revenue growth. Monitor biopharma market trends and regulatory frameworks to identify strategic opportunities and inform application positioning. Requires advanced degree in genomics or related field with biopharma industry experience; 40% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, or equivalent experience) in genomics, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field
- Expertise in genomics and analytical methods applied to biologics, gene and cell therapies, or vaccine development
- Deep understanding of regulatory expectations and quality control processes in biopharmaceutical environments
- Proven track record in B2B marketing, product management, or market development within life sciences or biotech
- Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international trips, to engage with customers, attend conferences, and support central initiatives
Desired Qualifications
- Industry experience in biopharma is strongly preferred
- Proven track record involving the introduction of disruptive or novel technologies into complex markets
- Strategic problem solver with strong execution capabilities, able to identify key priorities, develop global marketing strategies, and communicate arguments to senior leadership
- Outstanding communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence internal and external collaborators, including KOLs, CROs/CMOs, and translational development partners
- Skilled in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, compelling marketing materials that resonate with diverse technical and commercial audiences
