Job Summary
Conduct routine and intermediate branch services, including accepting deposits, cashing checks, processing loan payments, and assisting with night depository duties. Lead the teller side by supervising staff, conducting interviews, and providing training while ensuring compliance with state and federal banking regulations. Open and close the vault daily, balance currency, and cross-sell bank products by resolving customer issues within given authority. Maintain proper identification for new accounts, process stop payments and hold orders, and manage safe deposit duties. Operate computer terminals to process account activity and resolve problems, while gathering data for various reports and maintaining accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Work related experience consisting of a financial institution cash handling and customer service background
- Educational experience through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related
- Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services
- Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations
- Basic knowledge of other Bank operational policies
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation
- Intermediate skills in mainframe computer system
- Intermediate skills in word processing
- Intermediate skills in spreadsheet
- Intermediate skills in account opening software programs
- Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position
- Basic math skills to calculate interest and balance accounts
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to locate routine mathematical errors
- Ability to count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- Ability to interpret documents
- Ability to understand procedures
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak clearly to customers and employees
- Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties
- Current Kentucky driver's license
- A vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities
