Job Summary
Market Grille Cook at Hy-Vee responsible for preparing hot and cold foods, ensuring sanitation, and delivering prompt, friendly customer service. Duties include cooking on grills and other equipment, preparing vegetables, sides, meats and menu items, maintaining product levels in hot cases, following safety and hygiene guidelines, and assisting customers and team members as needed. Requires familiarity with menu items, ability to take guests’ orders, and basic math for portioning and receipts. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment. Education: high school or equivalent; experience with six months or less in related work is preferred. Employment contingent on successful pre-employment drug screen.
