Job Summary
Assist Market Grille Department Manager in a fast-paced retail environment by providing prompt, friendly customer service, rotating and displaying perishable items, coordinating scheduling and production, overseeing catering contracts, training and supervising department staff, and ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating daily tasks, reviewing production lists, assigning duties to Market Grille staff, maintaining inventory, rotating perishable products with each delivery, handling customer issues, contributing ideas for in-store specials, assisting with signage and intercom messages, and stepping in for department management in their absence. Requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team, basic math for inventory/scheduling, adherence to company guidelines, and the physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of similar or related experience
- Ability to supervise and train department staff
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines encouraged; sanitation courses encouraged
